The Knoxville Police Department is continuing to investigate a fatal, pedestrian-involved crash that happened Saturday night on Magnolia Avenue.

At around 8:50 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, KPD officers responded to Magnolia Avenue at Bertrand Street to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian.

The involved vehicle, which remained on scene, was traveling west on Magnolia when it struck a woman who was attempting to cross Magnolia. The victim, age 61, was transported to the UT Medical Center with critical injuries, and was later pronounced dead.

According to witness statements, the involved vehicle was driving through the intersection and had a green light.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing at this time.
